2009

The idea came at the beginning of 2009. At that time, based on the British shows there were carp exhibitions throughout Europe. But not in Hungary although, the modern carp angling was already very popular here and the big brands were just as admired as the smaller, local bait factories. So we only had to introduce them to each other. This meeting gave a new meaning, a true community experience to the exhibition. The first Carp Show was born at Budakalasz, near Lake Omszki, in a 1000m² sport centre. How great the expectation was before the show could be seen just after an hour of the opening on Saturday when we could not move between the stands because of the crowd.
The venue was special because the lakeside programs enriched the weekend: boat and radar demonstrations, casting demonstration held by Frank Warwick, than a casting competition for the visitors.

After the success of the first exhibition there was no doubt about carrying on but it was also sure, that we had to move on from Budakalász since we grew out of the sport centre. Therefore the 2nd Carp Show was held at M1 Expo Budaörs in the impressive 6000m² hall in 2010 now for 3 days. Because of the bigger venue the exhibiting companies had enlarged their stands and new exhibitors came to the autumn gathering. Besides having more to see, the programs also got richer: on the big stage presentations and demonstrations were held and also there were free raffle draws twice a day with valuable prizes. The Decathlon angling simulator was extremely popular with both children and grown-ups.
So the success continued in the second year with thousands of visitors.

2011

The time and venue did not change in 2011: the Hungarian and international carp world met again on the second weekend of November at Budaörs. We can say that everyone who matters was there. Lots of famous carp anglers from Europe and Hungary appeared at the 3rd Hungarian Carp Show. Based on their opinion the Hungarian exhibition was among the first three of the continent by then with its size and high level.

2012

In 2012 we took another step since Prologic became our main sponsor. As it is in our five-year contract with the Danish company and its Hungarian representative, the Lanitex Ltd, they give presents to every visitor with the minimum value of the entrance ticket. In the first year of the partnership, everyone could take home one bag of the new Leviathan boilie range.
In this year the show started to grow out of this venue, too because the parking of the thousands of visitors got difficult and the public transport was not perfect either. This meant moving again and also even more hights for the exhibition.

2013

The big change in 2013 was a huge step forward. The 5-year old CarpShow got a new home in the nearly 7000m² big pavilion B of Hungexpo. Parking stayed free and now it was easy to get to the venue either by public transport or by car. The buffet was run by our associate and served delicious food for affordable prices – to be honest, these are important details since professionalism and the comfort of our visitors is equally cardinal.
Both the exhibitors and the visitors appreciated the new venue of the carp expo. Nothing shows this better than the growing number of exhibitors and the 20% more visitors thanks to the central location and the excellent public transport.
From the big names Daiwa and Korda took part with stands for the first time this year. But, of course, the regulars also represented themselves professionally, almost all of them on bigger area and with imposing appearance.

2014

In 2014 again the Hungarian and the international carp community met in the pavilion B of the Hungexpo. The exhibitors shown a huge interest, we could have placed the ‘full’ sign at the beginning of October and unfortunately we had to reject those who applied in the last weeks because we had no more space. The public also awaited the 6th Hungarian CarpShow. Even more people, almost 7000 visitor shown interest in the exhibition, more than ever before. There were a lot to see. The visitors could fight on two simulators (one for the children, one for the adults) with virtual fish, meanwhile in the artificial lake we could admire real giants courtesy of the Ráckeve Danube Angling Association.
On the big stage presentations, on the stands demonstration elevated the atmosphere and the two free raffle draws every day became one of the most popular attraction of CarpShow.
Almost all of the exhibitors prepare huge sales and discounts. These will not be clearance sales but they are offering current products for reduced prices.

2015

2015 was already the 3rd year in B pavilon, so we can say that Hungexpo became the home of Carpshow. The show truly matured by this time that was helped by its international reputation, its unquestionable status in Hungary and also its harmony of demand and supply. However, there are always new challenges and no two exhibitions are the same. Therefore, even with our routine and professionalism we had to work hard since just like in the previous years from the start of the organisation process the interest was great and this got even greater as the opening of the gates got closer, it even lasted till the very last hour.
The traditional programs delivered the usual popularity and the exhibitors could show new techniques and an unbelievably growing range of baits – most of them offered brand new products and deals despite having the exhibition in November.
Besides the angling attractions, comfort and the pleasant atmosphere is also always high priority. This is helped by the public transport, parking, the cloakroom, the buffet and our eager and helpful employees, just to mention a few.

2016

2016

In 2016, for the first time in the history of Carpshow, the exhibitor stalls were sold out by September, not a single square foot left empty. The ever growing number of the international companies and the significant increase in the number of visitors were the sign of the show`s popularity.
Maybe the most important of all the novelties is that Carp Academy and Nevis became our main sponsors and with every entrance ticket our visitors received a 3000HUF worth gift pack and at the usual raffle draw a lucky winner could go home with an expensive main prize every day. A casting field was also built where world champions showed the skills and tricks of casting and helped the visitors and presented medals to those who performed well. The pictures supporting the presentations were shown on HD quality TVs and in the breaks fantastic films were shown. Thanks to the Angling Association Ráckeve the visitors could also see giant carps live.
Because of the increasing number of exhibitors, visitors and programmes the show outgrown the Hungexpo B pavilion in 4 years therefore, in 2017 it had to make a huge step again: the 9th Carpshow moves to the huge A pavilion. Let`s prepare together for the biggest

2017

In 2017 we made a historical step again: the Show moved to Pavilion A of Hungexpo where on 11,000 square metre with the participation of nearly 100 exhibitors we organised the biggest CarpShow. The international attention had been increasing and even more companies came to Budapest from abroad than in the year before. Now the exhibitors arrived from 10 countries so the variety of products was truly extraordinal. The number of visitors also increased significantly: close to 12,000 people visited the carp-weekend.

A 10×10-metre lake was built where the audience could try out boats and kayaks on the water and it also served as the test venue for bait boats. The product of the show prizes broadened, there were 20 categories to enter.

Traditionally, there was a present with every entrance ticket for everyone, and our visitors could also take part twice a day at the raffle draw where besides lots of prizes great-value Grand Prizes were also drawn. There was a great step forward regarding gastronomy. The outside and inside food stalls offered a great choice of food and drink for the visitors. Due to the special priced family tickets and to the free entry for children that November weekend yet again proved to be a great activity for families.

Like the angling methods, the anglers specialise, too. Therefore, in 2018 we prepare surprises and in festive spirit for the 10th Carpshow. We will also provide venue for two other events: The Feeder Festival (Feeder Fesztivál) and the Spinning Parade (Pergető Parádé) will launch with thematically separated areas and suitable presentational and entertainment areas to the different methods and venues. See you on the second weekend of November at the largest Angling Exhibition of Central Europe!
